£30,000 funding has been awarded on a sliding scale over three years to assist All Together Now! in becoming self-sufficient.-

The Apple Trust is more than a day nursery or after schools club. It seeks to build positive relationships with children and their families. The grant from the Morgan Foundation of £20,000 over two years to help in employing 4 Out of School Assistants, will enable The Apple Trust to provide safe activities that extend beyond the out of schools sessions. The 'Teatime Special', with a 2 course meal and film evening, for children and their parents/carers allows families to spend quality time together in a relaxed, friendly environment. The Holiday Club allows parents to continue in much needed work during school holidays preventing families from living in poverty. Their children are cared for, encouraged to explore the environment they live and play in, and engage in activities that help with all areas of a child's development.-

The Basement Night Drop-In Centre in central Liverpool offers a comprehensive and inclusive range of services to the homeless or hostel-users in the city. Highly skilled staff assist users address issues which have caused homelessness and help them to restructure their lives.
The Morgan Foundation has committed £30,000 per year over three years to employ a development worker and to help with running costs.-

Butterflies offers a bereavement, loss and separation support service to children and young people aged 7-16 years of age, in the community through the voluntary sector. Capital funding was provided for the development of the children's counselling suite and a three years funding has been committed towards running costs of this valuable specialist service.-

The Canal Boat Adventure Project |
|
|
Part of the Canal Boat Adventure Project, the Nessie Club (Courage to Achieve) support to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them to access support and opportunities to enable them to reach their full potential in social, educational and international settings, equipping them with a wide range of life skills. The original cohort of young people now provides mentoring and support to the next group who in their turn will pass on their skills and expertise to the cohort below them, thus ensuring the continuing success of the project.-

A disabled sports club based in Rossett, the Wheelchair Basketball Club has a team in the Wheelchair Basketball Superleague and incorporates teaching of a range of skills to disabled youngsters to improve their independence and self-confidence. £6,000 per year for three years has been awarded to help develop the junior team and expand the Disability Awareness Programme as well as covering costs for the summer residential camp.-

CHICS provides support and self-help for children with cancer, their parents, siblings and relatives. The organisation is run on a voluntary basis and provides help and support through regular informal meetings, social functions, holidays, outings, a newsletter, information and non-medical advice, improving hospital facilities for families and fund raising. The Morgan Foundation has provided £37,500 over three years to fund a Family Liaison Officer to provide personal family support to members in their own homes and on the hospital ward and clinic.-

Chance of a Lifetime Venture |

A charity run by Wirral Police Officers and other Organisations to reward young people who have overcome tragedy or an adversity or for showing good citizenship within the community by taking them scuba diving and sailing. The Morgan Foundation has supported them by contributing £8,000 over two years to assist them to charter a sailing ship.-

Chrysalis is a small but effective charity run entirely by volunteers who provide support services to women, girls and young children affected by domestic violence. Three years funding has been given to enable Chrysalis to move to new office accommodation which provides a safer, more accessible venue with the facility to provide in-house training to improve sustainability.-

Contact a Family Wales helps families of children with disabilities by providing information, organizing workshops, campaigning on disability issues and linking families.
The Morgan Foundation has provided three years funding for a Family Support Worker who provides an enquiry or home visiting service for families caring for disabled children aged 0-19 yrs in Conwy ,Gwynedd and Anglesey. The service is open to families or carers and may provide information on such issues as local services and support to explore options available, negotiating with other agencies, helping families to access benefits and other sources of financial help or general emotional support through a crisis or period of increased stress such as moving school or receiving a diagnosis.-

A small, newly founded group providing a year long timetable of activities, including arts, craft and sports for adults with learning difficulties and physical difficulties. The group meets in a safe environment where people can feel comfortable, learn new skills and build their confidence and self-esteem.-

Working from numerous venues across North Wales, Cruse Bereavement’s trained volunteers offer a confidential and free service to promote the well being of bereaved people, to enable anyone suffering a bereavement caused by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss. In addition to counselling and crisis support, there are regular social support groups and information drop-in sessions across the area. An injection of cash, together with three years funding towards running costs has helped ensure the organisation’s financial stability.-

C-SAW Community Support for Autism in Wales is based in North Wales and works with children and adults on autistic spectrum, their parents and carers. C-SAW provides a variety of services including an autism specific holiday club, a young person’s social group, parent seminars and parental support, counselling and recreational activities for autistic children.

Daffodils was set up by a group of families who all had a disabled child. The organisation provides a support network and provides activities and outings for disabled children and young people together with their parents and siblings, enabling them to access activities from which they may be otherwise precluded. £15,000 a year for three years has been awarded to help with running costs.-

This Wrexham based charity provides out of school activities for children and young people who suffer from a disability, learning difficulty or life-limiting illness. A wide variety of social and leisure activities, plus various forms of training are offered.
Assistance was originally given to enable Dynamic to establish and develop its services. Support for core costs continues, with funding of over £85,000 having been committed to date, plus the provision a fully adapted minibus to transport the youngsters to their various activities.-

An inspirational voluntary group providing support and practical help to the families of victims of homicide across Merseyside as well as campaigning for changes in the law. A three year grant has been offered to help with the costs of renting premises to allow the group to grow and develop children’s services, family activities and counselling.-

Established in 1995 as an Adventure Club for children aged 9 – 13 Granby Toxteth Activity Club has become a Registered Charity operating 3 outdoor education projects for children and young people aged 9 – 19 years. The small local grass roots organisation offers motivation and support to young people through adventurous activities including the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
For the young person the development of these newly found skills enables them to gain confidence and improve their self esteem levels. This is then reflected in their academic achievements through the formal educational system and many go on to further and higher education.
Many former members have gone on to university studying youth work, media, graphic art, fashion & textiles and sports leadership whilst others have gained employment in ICT, administration, the Royal Marines and retail work.
The Morgan Foundation provided £5,000 emergency funding in the summer of 2007 to cover the ongoing costs of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, with a further 3-year commitment of £10,000 per annum for general running costs starting in December 2007.-

Halton Autistic Family Support |

HAFS is an established voluntary support group run by families, supporting families in Halton affected by Autism. HAFS offers a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment where the whole family is catered for. HAFS provides support on an emergency crisis basis or as part of a long-term strategy, helping to obtain appropriate levels of statutory body provided services and benefits. There are regular trips and outings, an annual holiday, monthly support groups, supervised sports sessions and leisure activities and carer support services, including respite care. A grant of £15,000 per annum for an administrator post, plus one-off start-up costs of £3,000 were granted in July 2007.-

Providing a much-needed service for separated family members to meet in a safe and comfortable environment, this organisation is pivotal in helping to maintain parent-child relationships and reducing the stress and conflict which may be present when relationships break down. It has been given a commitment of £15,000 to support its administrative needs.-

Halton Access to Sport Forum (Sport for All) |

Halton Access to Sport offers sporting opportunities for young people with a disability between the ages of eight to eighteen to take part in weekly sports session. The sessions are designed to increase personal growth and wellbeing interaction with other young people and to encourage all of the members to take an active participation in sport on a weekly basis. The sessions are designed around the young people and all sports are adapted to meet the needs of the members and the siblings that attend each week. The Morgan Foundation has provided three years funding towards running costs.-

The Hope Centre provides facilities and support to homeless clients with drug and alchohol addictions, the elderly, isolated and families. Three years funding has been granted towards the Centre Co-ordinator's salary.-

Homestart Wrexham |
|
|
Homestart's main service is to offer volunteer support and befriending to families with children under five years old. Volunteers offer support, friendship and practical help to families under stress, in their own homes, emphasising the pleasures of family life and helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. The project has been given three year funding totalling £20,000 to expand its volunteer network.-

Founded in 2002, this project offers services to improve the lives of local parents and children, meeting them at their point of need. The Family Worker provides advice, support and activities whilst paving the way for other agencies if necessary. One to one support is given in the home and groups meet in the local church hall. A total of £15,000 has been awarded over three years towards the salary of the Family Support Worker.-

Jus Kidz |

|
Jus Kidz was set up by the parents of children with disabilities to end the isolation their children experience at weekends and during school holidays. There is an inclusive Saturday activity club for children and young people with a disability and their siblings from the Knowsley area. Parents are offered much-needed respite or the opportunity to stay for a chat and coffee. School holiday schemes offer play and day trips. Funding has been given for three years to help with running costs.-

An independent charity based in Warrington and run by volunteers, the John Holt Cancer Foundation provides free support, activities, advice and complimentary therapies to anyone who is or has been affected by cancer: patient, carer, bereaved carer, family member or friend. Work takes place in a variety of locations in the community, including the oncology ward at Warrington Hospital and The Morgan Foundation has offered three years funding towards the costs of premises for a base and drop-in facility in the town centre.-

The Kings Cross Project is a community development project based in Widnes and serving the whole of Halton. Its mission is to ‘work alongside local people to find local solutions to local needs’, encouraging and supporting people to take part in the life of their community. A range of services are offered to children and families including: After School Clubs, Child & Adolescent Counselling, Family Support, volunteering opportunities via our Community Parents Programme and Christmas Hamper distribution. Staff and volunteers are highly skilled and trained and offer a passionate and compassionate independent service to children and families, working alongside statutory agencies. The Morgan Foundation has committed to funding over three years towards the management costs of the project.-

KIM (Kindness in Mind) provides unique, innovative support via groupwork in the community and in the acute sector, for women throughout Flintshire who experience common mental health concerns and severe and enduring mental illness. KIM's programmes enable clients to improve coping strategies and to work towards mental health recovery, increasing social networks and opportunities for training, volunteering, employment and community integration. A grant of £6,000 per annum for three years has been provided to support volunteer training and on costs.-

The club is a self-funding voluntary organisation run by people with disabilities for people with disability and its aim is to promote and develop opportunities that will increase knowledge, self-confidence and a greater public awareness by taking part in activities with able-bodied and disabled people. The Morgan Foundation has made a three-year grant to help with running costs.-

MAD Club |

|
The M.A.D.(Making A Difference) youth club was set up in 2007, this project offers a safe haven for children aged 8 years to 16 years of age. Local Police Community Support officers engage with over forty eight youths twice weekly from neighboring council estates which suffer from high deprivation and mass unemployment. These Council Estates are also a target for lots of criminal activity. The support and activities provided for the youths by the Officers are much needed in an environment where it is difficult to stay safe, live, play and work.-

An urban-based outdoor pursuit educational centre in South Liverpool , the Merseyside Youth Challenge Trust offers a wide range of structured outdoor activities to young people, including those with learning difficulties and mobility problems. MYCT has been given funding of £6,000 per annum for three years, plus a one-off payment of £5,000 for equipment.-

NETHERLEY VALLEY ANGLING PROJECT |

|
A small voluntary group providing a disciplined, diversionary activity for children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Members learn to become proficient, competitive anglers; they have to abide by a strict code of conduct and, when finances allow, participate in an annual residential trip to Scotland. Older members assume the role of mentor for new intakes and the success of the project can be measured in terms of the notable career successes of former members.-

Based in the grounds of Woodford College on the outskirts of Winsford, the Neuromuscular Centre supports people suffering from muscular dystrophy, offering physical therapy, further education, plus training and employment opportunities in their own in-house graphic design company. The Morgan Foundation has granted £30,000 per year for three years to help develop a Home Working Project and towards transport costs.-

The North Wales Chrysalis Trust is a Registered
Charity and Voluntary Organisation offering support,
information and counselling to families who have a
child diagnosed with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
We also offer bereavement support to those families
who sadly lose a baby, child or young adult through illness, accident or still birth. Chrysalis works with families in the area covered by the Conwy & Denbighshire NHS Trust. Chrysalis has been given three year funding totalling £54,000 towards core operational costs.-

After having developed a skilled and sensitive support service to hearing impaired adults across North Wales, this project was facing closure due to lack of funding.
A temporary period of full support was offered to enable it to continue and to capitalise on the experienced staff it had in place. A total of £62,000 in running costs was committed to maintain this work.-

A not for profit community group running a voluntary community transport service and support for vulnerable people living in remote situations where conventional travel is not an option. North Salop Wheelers received a three year grant of £5,000 per annum to help towards the costs of employing an apprentice to support the service.-

Open Door and HT TK |

Open Door and HT TK are two community projects working with families in Old Town Runcorn, Halton, offering a range of activities for adults and children. Encouraging families to cook healthy meals is one of the new activities. Mums have a great morning trying new recipes and creating meals for the family to try at home. The Credit Crunch Cookery Course has been funded for two years by The Morgan Foundation.-

The Morgan Foundation has funded the provision of a Young Person’s Service in Halton and St Helens. The project will provide advice and support to young people affected by rape and/or sexual assault via its 5 day a week information line. The service will provide free counselling from the two office bases to young people aged 10 to 18. In addition to this a range of “Keeping Safe” workshops will take place that address myths and stereotypes around sexual violence. The workshops will provide a forum for young people to discuss ways of working together to minimise harm. -

Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (North Wales) |

The Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre North Wales provides specialist support services to survivors of any form of sexual violence and abuse. Counselling, crisis work and support work are the most accessed of the services on offer, although awareness raising sessions, supervision, group-work, volunteer training and diploma in counselling student placements are provided too. The work is crucial to the well-being and recovery of the survivor and the people (non-abusing family members, friends, partners) supporting them along their path to recovery, making a huge difference to the lives of hundreds of people every year.-

South Cheshire CLASP is a support group which reaches out to those who are affected by the trauma of single parenthood, whatever the circumstances, to enable them to move forward to a more positive future. Sefton O.P.E.R.A (Older Persons Enabling Resource & Action) is a “doorstep” service for older people, who often feel neglected, afraid to go out, and who may have health issues, which they cannot always address. The project gives these older people the opportunity to have contact with other people, whilst at the same time a taking part in one of O.P.E.R.A. activities
The Morgan Foundations support will help us develop and maintain our volunteer network for the future.-

Sightline Vision |

Sightline Vision is a confidential telephone helpline offered on a freephone number to those who are visually impaired and their family and friends. The volunteer team who staff the line are themselves living with loss of vision. The aim is to offer support, encouragement and signposting to sources of practical help. The Morgan Foundation has granted three years core funding to maintain the sustainability of the service.-

Special Olympics Wrexham Athletic Club |

|
Special Olympics Wrexham provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for people aged 14-65 from North Wales with a learning disability. A small grant was given in 2007 to help with costs for participating in the UK Special Olympics Athletics Track and Field Finals, with a further two year grant of £2,500 for general running costs.-

SGDVP offer support to women who are or have experienced domestic abuse who live in or around South Liverpool. Services are volunteer led and include the provision of information, one to one telephone and face to face emotional and practical support, group programmes, counselling and legal or debt advice. St Cleopas Urban Aid Project |

St Cleopas 468 works to meet the needs of all in the community of Dingle/Toxteth. Based at the 468 Centre, work links with the community through the after school clubs and holiday activities, school programmes and family support in the area. The project aims to develop members spiritual, social, moral, intellectual, and physical skills and seeks to help everyone in the community by introducing initiatives that will increase opportunities for them in the future. The project was awarded £7,500 per annum in November 2007 for three years towards general running costs.-

Survive Abuse Counselling |

|
Survive offers 1-1 counselling to both male and female survivors of childhood sexual abuse, rape, incest and domestic violence. Full and professional counselling is given to clients as they are supported through such issues as; depression, alcohol and drug abuse, self harm and suicidal ideology, difficulties within employment and potential and actual court cases. We aim to see all potential clients within forty eight hours for assessment and allocation to a counsellor within fourteen days.-

Triple C Norris Green |

Triple C Elder Persons Project offers a range of activities social and educational activities to combat isolation and loneliness amongst older people. These include exercise, gardening and healthy options as well as trips out. There is also an Intergenerational Project which works to break down barriers, encourage communication and develop new relationships. Three years funding has been granted towards the salary of the Older Person's Worker-

Tan y Maen is a resource centre for people with mental health problems, located in Blaenau Ffestiniog. A drop-in service is offered 4 days a week, providing social and educational activities, information resource and support. A three year grant has been provided to expand the service to satellite locations across communities in South Gwynedd.-

Team Oasis offers a range of dynamic, constructive after-school activities to children in the Toxteth and Dingle areas of Liverpool. The regular programme includes sports and football, arts, dance and drama with performances in professional theatres. This rapidly growing charity was awarded £25,000 per year for three years to provide administrative support for its expanding range of services.-

Valiant Sports Club |

Valiant Sports club is run by volunteers who provide inclusive sports for children and young people with physical and learning disabilities. The club received three years funding to help with costs to develop individual boccia and football sessions which will enable the more active and the more profoundly disabled members to pursue their chosen sport in a more appropriate setting.-

Venus Resource Centre |

|
Venus works with young women, women and their families who may be facing difficulties in their lives. We offer information, advocacy, new opportunities and emotional support to enable women and families to overcome barriers, develop new skills and build confidence. The Morgan Foundation has awarded Venus £20,000 per annum for three years to develop a Vulnerable Families Programme to run alongside their exisiting support services which will enable them to continue meeting the needs of the most 'hard to reach' families who are often excluded from or uncomfortable within mainstream services.-

VIKINGS 2009 WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL CLUB |

A small charity run by volunteers to provide the opportunity for people of all ages with disabilities to play wheelchair basketball. Members include national league and non-league recreational players. A three-year grant of £2,500 per annum has been provided to help with the club’s running costs.-

Widnes and Runcorn Cancer Support Group provides a community based support service for patients, carers and family members in Halton who are living with or have been affected by cancer. The Centre is open five days a week, offering advice and signposting, a listening ear and counselling service, emotional and psychological support, self-help groups, social activities, complimentary therapies and respite breaks. -

The WAM Friendship Centre |

The WAM Friendship centre provides for all members of the local community with after school clubs, play schemes , weekend half-term residential breaks, off site weekend and evening activities. There is a club for physically disabled teenagers and adult education classes with crèche facilities as well as parent and toddler groups. Residents from the community can access the drop-in whenever the centre is open . The Morgan Foundation has granted funding over a 3 year period to support the Children’s Work.-

Wirral Holisitc Care Services provide a range of specialist care services to those with cancer and support for relatives/carers. Three years funding has been given towards the post of a Clinical Specialist Nurse to meet growing demand.-

Based in the middle of Winsford town, Winsford MIND provides a drop-in activity and support centre for people with short and long-term mental health problems in the borough of Vale Royal. Three years funding has been granted for a part-time post of Learning Support and Development Worker.-

Founded in 2003 and working with over 50 adult volunteers, WSAAG provides children from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Wirral and surrounding areas with short residential breaks offering challenging and enterprising adventure holidays based on Swallows and Amazons type pursuits. The Morgan Foundation has provided £7,500 per annum for three years towards the cost of lakeside adventure holidays for disabled children.-

This highly specialised service offers free advice and guidance to parents of children with additional needs, helping them to navigate their way through the complexities of the special needs provision and statementation procedures. £23,000 was pledged in core funding to assist this organisation in continuing its work and developing a secure funding base for the future.-

Woodlands Christian Revival Centre |

A youth project in Netherley, Woodlands helps young people in the locality to engage in constructive, character building activities and mentoring to move away from ‘gang culture’ and anti-social behaviour and promote community cohesion. Activities include a youth club, performing arts lessons, holiday clubs, residential and educational trips as well as a job related support service. Three years funding has been awarded towards the post of a Female Support Worker.-

The Yellow House is an inspirational centre in Kensington where young people are given time and space in a home setting to increase their skills and knowledge, gain confidence and self worth. Yellow House run cultural and arts projects and work in schools, dealing with anti name calling and anti-bullying, helping young people to realise their ambitions. Yellow House has received three years core funding to help with running costs.-

Ykids is a children’ charity working to benefit the lives of children living in deprived areas of Bootle in Merseyside. The Redi project is a mentoring programme working with up to 150 children aged 8 – 13 yrs.The exciting programmes are designed to encourage, build self esteem, teach new skills, and promote positive life choices. The Morgan Foundation Funding will help to support the ongoing work and enable YKids to develop a new group working with young people aged 13 – 16yrs, training them to be peer mentors.-

The Zero Centre provides drop-in support for women, young people and children who have experienced domestic abuse. Each client is given an individually tailored package of support, legal advice, information and advice, specialist domestic violence counselling, appropriate referral, one-one support, outreach support, support groups, empowerment programmes, healing programmes for children and domestic violence training for agencies.-
